SUPER FORCE ZACH STONES POWERS
SYNOPSIS:
Zach “a
former astronaut turned cop who uses a highly advanced powered exoskeleton and
motorcycle to fight crime in the city of Metroplex during the then future year
of 2020.”

THE SERIES SET UP:
The series
opens with a scene where a futuristic spaceship, is coming from mars, where our
main character is operating an astronaut who is later introduced as Zach Stone.
During which down on earth a guy we later find out is called Frank Stone is in
a brawl with some criminals where he gets locked by what I assume to be one of
the criminals into a room, in front of him are two monitors where the words
“Hello Frank Stone… Goodbye” are scrolling across each monitor, Frank soon
finds out what those words mean when smoke begins to enter the room, he
realizes he’s been set up and is unable to escape when he fails to open the
doors beside the monitors, causing him to collapses due to the smoke-fumes.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
I like that the series
starts off as hopeful then is immediately contrasted by the dire situation down
on earth, really sets up off the bat the threat and seriousness
of what is to come, while also foreshadowing the concepts of "the Good" and "the Bad" that is to be introduced in the second season.
The clever use of the word Goodbye on the monitors as it doesn’t immediately insinuate that’s he’s dead [which Zach is led to believe] but leaves it up to the watchers to decided for themselves. Considering later events that will take place in the series. Making the reveal that Frank is still alive, arguably that more haunting.
However, the
one criticism I would have is the very awkward pacing, although within saying
that I can look past it due to at the time it was a straight to tv movie, and
was made during the very early 90s, so I’ll lend it some leeway. But what I
will say is the pacing does get better throughout the actual run of the tv
series itself.
Now onto the actual reason you clicked on this article, what exactly are Zach Stones Powers? I hear you asking!
Do not worry I’ve got you covered, in
this article I will help you gain understanding from my analysis of his powers.
DESTINY AWARENESS -
Zach at the beginning of the second season, after being brought back from the dead by Zander Tyler, herself having ESP [Extrasensory Perception], which allowed her to go into his mind to give him the “will to live” again, the aftermath of which caused him to go into a state of an acute existential crisis as he struggled to come to terms with being alive again, going through waves of extremely low moods to extremely high moods, as if he’s mentally in a state of FLUX between life and death, in a transition phase or awakening stage, giving him an awareness of his own Destiny or just Destiny Awareness, that also gave him slight [Self] Chrono Vision or Self-Past-Present-Future Vision.
Zach – “That’s just it, see I’m not confused, everything’s very clear, I see patterns and meanings, life, my life, that’s happened to me, I see distinctly every event that has led me to be right here at the table with you.”
Zach – “You don’t understand everything that’s happened in my life both good and bad has been for a purpose to lead me here, and I see that now – and it’s going to continue to lead me for the rest of my life, I’ll be fighting… Theres good and there’s evil and I got the job to sort it out, and it’s not ever going to end”
Zach – “I also see this Grand Design nothing is random”.
Chrono Vision/ Past-Present-Future Vision: the ability for one to “see any point in time, from only a few seconds, minutes, even hours into the past/present and future, up to events all throughout time, whether that be along their own timelines or along the timelines of others.”

ELECTROMAGNETIC VISION -
Due to Zach having a “heightened perception” and being brought back from the dead, his eyes are diagnosed by F.X “sensitive to the entire electromagnetic spectrum”. Meaning he can see electromagnetic fields. This is demonstrated in:
The 1st episode “At the End of the Tunnel Part 1” in the scene where he and Zander are walking out of the restaurant after they had, had a deep conversation, Zach saw what looked like to be a white mist in the shape of a car moving, but through a building that was on the opposite side of the street.
Zach describes it after Zander had suggested that it was Precognition:
Quote: “No, No I mean… I did see it I, I saw, I saw its exhaust or something… through that building.”
This caused him to grab Zander by the waist and pull her out the way of the car, saving his own and her life.
Then in the 2nd episode “At the end of the Tunnel Part 2” in a test that F.X did where Zach was able to find where the magnetic “ironized bearing” was under 3 metallic cups, that F.X had shuffled.
Finally in the 3rd episode “Light Around the Body”, He was also able to see where Zanders body was, after she had been buried alive by her [shot by Zach] obsessed colleague Dr. Sincara, Via her body’s heat signature.
Zach saying to F.X on the phone, quote: “I can see the heat of her body through the ground, like a flame in the dark”
The Powers That Fall Under Electromagnetic Vision:
Electromagnetic Vision: “The user can perceive…The entire electromagnetic spectrum or most of it is visible to the user and can "tune" their vision to interpret the various ranges of the energy. Thermoreception [or Thermo-Vision]: “The user is able to perceive the infrared spectrum (i.e. temperature signatures) …the user is able to perceive the heat presences of any living targets…Cold temperatures appear as green or blue while warmer ones appear yellow to dark pink or even red-orange-yellow.”

NEUROLINK -
After the [Super Force] suit had “sort circuited” causing Zach to go into a coma, inside it in the process, a digitized E.B Hungerford; himself once was a human in the first season involuntarily had his consciousness uploaded to a computer by F.X, after he had been killed by Frank Stone. “Reconnected” quote:
E.B – “some of the biomatrix and I personally am keeping his body alive with a neurolink”
F.X – “He’s Alive”
E.B – “Technically no, there are high levels of death hormones throughout his body but I'm keeping him alive for now… FX Zach is strong there is still cortical activity”
F.X – “What does that mean”
E.B – “There is no other brain activity, the brain stem is dead”
F.X – “Then what other signal are you picking up?”
E.B – “it could be, F.X!, I believe we're seeing Zach's soul”
Meaning that Zach’s body is dead, but his soul hasn’t left the body. This gave just enough time for Zander to bring Zach back to life using her ESP, resulting in Zach later discovering that both him and E.B have a “Neuro-Link” [bond] to each other. This is what caused Zach gaining machine like “Enhancements”.
ENHANCEMENTS -
In the aforementioned episode “At the End of the Tunnel Part 2” during some testing that F.X was conducting, Zach was able to solve a Rubix cube in an “incredible” “2.8 seconds”, which is faster than the average person could, seemingly displaying “enhanced” speed.
In the same episode Zach commented after F.X had asked how he had done it quote: “I don’t know, if I think about it, I can’t do it” meaning problem solving has become instinct or a sub-conscious by-product from being brought back from death. Now being able to solve puzzles without training and or various issues that comes his way, that both had required conscious thought prior to his newly gained “heightened perception”.
After which, during a test using what looks like an arm chest expander apparatus hooked up to a computer, he displayed enhanced strength to the point he broke the apparatus, excitedly exclaimed by F.X as “Zach you’re as strong as 10 men” corrected by E.B as actually “Zach is as strong as 4.2 men, 4.2 average men that is”.
Zach in a scene where he is venting to Zander in yet again “At the End of the Tunnel Part 2” quote: “This new Heightened Perception that I have, I mean sometimes I can see beyond the visible spectrum… How do you explain that I have an instantaneous grasp of complex mathematical problems why give up? Okay how about” [Zach proceeds to throw multiple darts into the dart board behind him while not looking at it] him going onto to state quote: “I’ve been doing this all afternoon, once I’ve seen where the target is I don’t have to look”. This one is quite explanatory, it’s obvious that Zach now appears to have “360-degree senses” as well as those previously noted abilities.
360-Degree Senses: “the user is able to use any/all of their senses in all directions at once, allowing them to taste, feel/touch, smell, hear, see, etc., omnidirectionally at the same time.”

SUPERNATURAL POWERS -
In the episode “A Rainbow at Midnight” Zach goes to rest up in the Hungerford Industries office but is jumped awake by the presence of a dead police officer who is later in the episode identified as Carl Rathman. Zach learns from a discussion with Zander quote
Zander – “Most violent spirits spring from tortured souls.”
Zach confused replies – “Why has he appeared to me, actually spoke to me?”
Zander responds back – “He spoke to you because he mistakes you for someone like him”
Zach – “Because I! Died! Too!”
Zander – “And we were able to bring you back. Now you can see through [I’m assuming through to other planes] not with the [naked] eye. That’s why you were able to see Rathman”
So, this means spirit Officer Carl Rathman thinks Zach is a ghost, because technically speaking Zach is, you could even say Zach IS well “Half ghost half human” a “Human-Ghost” with him additionally also being Half-Machine in a metaphysical way as discussed above. Which would mean he has “Half-Ghost-Half-Machine Physiology” which makes him a “Human-Ghost-Machine Tribrid” of sorts. This also means that Zach now has “Mediumship” powers.

ELECTRICAL TELEPATHY -
As already established,
that Zach is a “Human-Ghost-Machine Tribrid” of sorts, from being brought back
from death and having a “Neuro-link” to E.B [A Computer/Machine], this made him
capable in the 16th episode “King of the Trees” of communicating
with Iau an estranged person from another dimension, as seen in the scene where
Iau has been caught and locked up in a prison cell by the police, where Zach
puts his hand from the other side of the bars to Iau’s hand in an attempt to communicate
with Iau; a spark emits in-between both from the electricity on the bars.
In the next
scene, Zach to F.X – “It wasn’t like we talked it was more of an exchange of
images.”
F.X – “Well,
was it his ability or your new powers?”
Zach – “Little
of both.”
So, Zach was able to use the electricity from the prison cell’s bars as a “gate” to view into and communicate via the brains synapses electrical signals, telepathically with Iau, Zach demonstrating “Electrical Telepathy”.
Electrical Telepathy: “The user can perceive, manipulate
or otherwise interact with information and aspects of the mind using
electricity, enabling them to mentally communicate with other beings as well as
potentially read and control their thoughts, memories and emotions.”

In the following scene, where Zach tapped into the Light within him, while in a struggle with Mariah, Zander ran over to him, them both now hand-in-hand were able to unionize their powerful “psychic force’s” to banish the entity of death out of Mariah taking control of it pushing it toward the “pinnacle of evil”, causing an abrupt explosion in their wake, that destroyed the “pinnacle of evil” for good.
